Minnesota State Capitol Repair and Façade Restoration, St. Paul, MN. 2005-2007; $247 million construction cost. Lead Engineer of the investigation and resupport of the main dome and lantern. Project included extensive research of original design drawings and correspondences to understand original design and dome stability.

Pantages Theater Renovation and Adaptive Reuse, Minneapolis, MN. 2003; $12 million construction cost. Lead Engineer in the renovation and adaptive reuse of a 1,050 seat, 1916 vaudeville house. Design included modified gridiron, balconies, added orchestra pit; reinforced roof for modern snow loads and new mechanical loads.

Loose-Wiles Biscuit Building Adaptive Reuse, Minneapolis. 2003; $6.5 million construction cost. Lead Engineer in the adaptive reuse of a seven-story 1918 concrete bakery building, creating an Arch/Engineering headquarters. It included the removal of six 30-ton masonry ovens and surrounding floors, creating a three-story upper atrium space.

Pillsbury A-Mill Restoration and Adaptive Reuse, Minneapolis. 2007; $40,000 investigation; subsequent renovation (designed by others) $225 million construction cost. Lead Engineer in the investigation of damage to a large 1905 grain mill. Existing construction included three-foot thick limestone exterior walls and heavy-timber interior (fireproof construction techniques). Investigation determined cause of 30” movement of exterior walls.

Cady Building Adaptive Reuse, Sheridan, Wyoming. 2020-2021 (ongoing); $6.5 million (estimated) construction cost. Lead engineer to modify existing two-story historic stone building and adjacent brick building. Included evaluation and reinforcement of existing buildings and design of a two-story addition atop the existing buildings.

Minneapolis City Hall Moat Repair and Roof Reinforcement for Green Roof, Minneapolis. 2001 & 2005; $1 million construction cost. Repairs required in-situ reinforcing or replacement of existing structure, while carrying large design loads.

Washburn-Crosby Mill Ruins Wall Investigation and Reinforcement; Concrete Grain Elevator Bin Evaluation, Minneapolis,

; $85,000 construction cost. Lead Engineer in the analysis, reconstruction and resupport of fire-damaged free-standing limestone walls. The adjoining 15’ diameter, 150’ tall concrete “grain elevators” an four-story “head-house” above were evaluated for future adaptive reuse.

Schmid Farmstead Ruins Stabilization Project, Three Rivers Park District, Plymouth, MN. 2010; $4,500 investigation and preliminary design cost. Lead Engineer to stabilize the walls and supporting foundations of an 1880s stone farmstead. Historic mortar was matched, a new wood canopy and public walks were added.

Faribault Cabin Stabilization for Relocation, Three Rivers Park District, Shakopee, MN. 2012; $5,500 investigation and preliminary design costs. Lead engineer in the stabilization of a historic tamarask-wood log cabin (the oldest structure of European descent in Minnesota). Project involved designing a steel space-frame to support fragile log walls, floor and roof during a ¼ mile move.

Pioneer Endicott Rooftop Patio and Pool Addition, St. Paul, MN. 2014; $240,000 construction costs. Lead Engineer in the reinforcement of a steel and iron roof of an 1880s 12-story office building to support a new pool and patio.

Orpheum Theater Terra Cotta Balcony Reconstruction, Orpheum Theater, Minneapolis. 2004; $125,000 construction cost. Lead Engineer to investigate, repair and replace the internal iron support of the intricate exterior terra cotta balcony and balustrade pieces.

Basement reinforcements/modifications, Minneapolis. 2003-2006. City government reclaimed the historic commercial basements within its downtown that extended beneath sidewalks. Many of these archaic structural systems were deteriorated, requiring reinforcement and modification to meet the city’s requirements.

Beaser School Adaptive Reuse, Ashland, WI. 2025. Evaluated and modified a three-story stone 1920 stone schoolinto market rate housing. Evaluated the large attic space for new housing, added new stairs within the existing footprint.
